“Insert Title Here About Careers After College”

I find myself nearing the end of college. I’m completing my MBA and I’ve realized something.

I’m not too sure what I want to do. But, there are a few things I am sure of. I’m sure that the type of people I work with must be those that are creative and who’s personalities mesh well with mine. I’m sure that the type of work I’m doing needs to be creative and expressive. I’m sure that in my work I need some level of autonomy or I need to be my own boss.

People

The people need to be creative because I think I’m creative. I can’t be around people who aren’t willing to reach for something from nothing. Meaning, they need to bounce ideas off me as easy as I can bounce ideas off of them. This is essential because it is my belief that the more ideas, even if most are bad, the higher the likelihood of discovering fun, great ideas.

Work

The type of work needs to be creative and expressive as well. This is because my personality is very fleeting. Fleeting in the sense that when I see something I think is cool, that’s what I want to be doing. This means in my previous jobs the part that has been the worst is the routine tasks. Routine SUCKS THE LIFE OUT OF ME!!!

Autonomy

I need to have a level of autonomy. I don’t necessarily need to be my own boss. However recently, as in this past year, I’ve discovered the topic of entrepreneurship. By this, I’ve become fascinated with the idea of starting a business. The appeals of making millions isn’t my keen interest. I’m more interested in how many different types of people are successful entrepreneurs. There isn’t just a one type of entrepreneur which is great because it means I too can be an entrepreneur. But, I need the autonomy because I mentioned I get fascinated by something new and I need to be able to explore that without the consequence of neglecting a duty.

What does my future hold?

My current interests are e-sports and video games, and graphic design. I’m keeping my eye out for careers in any of these areas. Graphic design is something I’ve had no formal schooling in and I’m going to have to teach myself but, I’m looking forward to learning new things and being able to express myself.
