Everyone needs their escapism and things to make them smile. I discovered a YouTube channel while watching videos about the game Destiny. It was a guy who’s YouTube channel is called Mr. Fruit. He begins all videos with an enthusiastic “Hi-De-Ho Everyone! My name is Mr. Fruit,” and it’s that enthusiasm which I’ve become accustomed to. I’ll give a background on Mr. Fruit and then the inspiration his channel gives me.

His “Draw My Life” video gives all of his background information and really lets you connect with the man making all of the videos, who I and so many others have come to enjoy. What draws me to his videos is that fact that we are very close in age and I can relate to him. He gives off a persona like that friend who is always happy to see you no matter how long it’s been. What impressed me was he went into detail about his personal experiences with depression. That takes so much courage to expose so much of yourself to the internet where people can be so hateful. He states that he wants to bring smiles and entertain people.

It’s this attitude that draws me in. He’s not trying to make the most money on YouTube or make people smile for his own ego or popularity. He does it because he’s dealt with depression and he wants to help by producing enjoyable, silly content for people. I relate to this because that is something that I want from my life. Looking back on my short 21 years, I was most happiest when I was surrounded by people and making them laugh. That’s what inspires me about Mr. Fruit.

When I shake Mr. Fruit’s hand here’s what I would tell him: your content brightens my day and has helped me when I’m feeling sad, your positivity and enthusiasm are contagious, you’re a great role model, and I appreciate all the hard work you do to put out as many videos as you do.

Here’s Mr. Fruit’s YouTube channel which has links to all his other sites.
